Cellular wrap: existing within each other

Wednesday / June 10, 2026 at 2:30 pm This 75 minute session is dedicated to a movement inquiry and experiment through improvised gestures and the sounding body. Using a practice of embodied research that borrows from cellular science, participants are invited to explore senses of closeness between human bodies and land ecologies. What lives within each of them? What does my body sense when moving closely with, not solely across, the land I occupy?

2026 Pride Prep Party

Friday / May 29, 2026 at 4:00 pm Kick off Pride with a relaxed, come-as-you-are evening of creativity, music, and good company. Make your own Pride gear, hang out with friends and coworkers, and help build some excitement for the weeks ahead. We’ll also have live music from Troy band Paintbrush Charlie, fronted by our very own Julia Alsarraf. Everyone’s welcome — staff, friends, family, and community alike. RPI at Work Hosts Systems Engineering Review on May 29

The degree is digitally delivered, flexible, and project-based to prepare decision-makers with broader and deeper capabilities in leading dynamic organizations. The session will highlight program details and how you can select graduate certificates relevant to your work to complete your graduate degree.

These certificates are three courses in length, developing targeted ability groups, and can be completed in as little as seven months. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

RARE Student Selected for NASA SEES Internship

The Rensselaer Astrobiology Research and Education (RARE) Center is pleased to share that high school student Stella has been selected for the highly competitive NASA STEM Enhancement in Earth Science (SEES) internship program. Stella was selected for the in-person planetary geology internship and will spend two weeks this summer at The University of Texas at Austin before continuing the remainder of the program online. Congratulations to Stella on this exciting achievement and opportunity in planetary science research.

RARE Student Wins First Place at International Science and Engineering Fair

The Rensselaer Astrobiology Research and Education (RARE) Center is proud to congratulate local high school student Makaila on winning First Place in the Earth and Environmental Sciences category at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, Arizona. Her project, “Investigating the Stability of Prebiotic Uracil Under the Conditions of Impact-Generated Terrestrial Hydrothermal Systems,” earned a $6,000 award and reflects two summers of research conducted in the RARE laboratories under the mentorship of Dr. Meri Herrero, Dr.
