February 4 Event to Feature Thalea String Quartet
On Sunday, February 4 at 3:00PM in the CBIS Auditorium, the Thalea String Quartet will host a Master Class with students from Schenectady Community College and the Empire State Youth Orchestra.
RPI Athletics Makes the Grade in Fall 2023
TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) athletics department announced that their student athletes finished the 2023 fall semester with a 3.15 cumulative GPA across all teams. Highlighting the statistic were 43 student-athletes with perfect 4.0 GPA's.
Burgermaster Wins Two Design Awards from American Institute of Architects
Matt Burgermaster, a lecturer in Rensselaer's School of Architecture, received two Honor Awards in AIA New Jersey’s 2023 Design Competition for recent projects by his office MABU in the built and unbuilt categories; DOUBLE TAKE is an adaptive reuse of a non-descript machine shop into a small warehouse complex with an integrated series of enclosed gardens and flexible work yards, while FOODLAB is a small culinary workspace and greenhouse set within a forest clearing in upstate New York.
Men’s Basketball Wins Third Straight, Downs Hobart
TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's basketball team became winners of three-straight on Tuesday night, as the Engineers downed the Hobart Statesmen by a final score of 77-54 at ECAV Arena. Sophomore Dylan Matchett scored a team-high 17 points, going 7-for-15 from the floor and 3-for-8 from three-point range.
Women’s Hoops Sharp Shooting Tops William Smith
TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's basketball team posted their second straight win on Tuesday night, as the Engineers used a 25-point, 12-rebound effort from junior Siena Smith to defeat the William Smith Herons by a final score of 74-55.
Two Earn Liberty League Weekly Awards
TROY, N.Y. – The Liberty League has announced its weekly award winners and two Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athletes from two sports have been recognized for the week ending Jan. 14.
