Mpox Update Fall 2024

On August 14, 2024, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the mpox outbreak as a public health emergency of international concern in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and neighboring countries. Mpox (formerly known at Monkeypox) is a viral illness that can be spread between people or between people and certain animals. It generally causes mild symptoms including a fever, headache, chills, fatigue, and a rash.
