Field Hockey Beats Russell Sage College, 4-1
TROY, N.Y. - Nina Caprio and Abby Peterson both had a goal and an assist and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) field hockey team held a 3-0 lead before going on to defeat Russell Sage College 4-1 in a non-league contest at Harkness Field. The win is the first in six games for the Engineers, while the Gators drop to 1-3.
Football Blanks WPI to Retain Transit Trophy
WORCESTER, Mass. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) defense held Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) to -12 yards rushing and out of the end zone, while the visiting Engineers' offense totaled 343 yards to retain the Transit Trophy, 25-0. RPI, which has now won the trophy for three straight season, improves to 3-0 with WPI falling to 2-1.

Three Chosen as Men's Cross Country Captains
TROY, N.Y. - Student-athletes Jason Gibbons, Will Hawkins, and Cory Kennedy will serve as captains of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's cross country team, head coach John Lynch has announced. This is the second year in the role for the team for Gibbons and Kennedy and the first for Hawkins.

TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey program has added Karlis Zirnis as an assistant coach, it has been announced. He joins the staff of head coach Dave Smith, alongside assistants Chuck Weber and Mathias Lange '09, and operations coordinator Ryan Michel.

CASTLETON, Vt. – Abby Peterson and Julie Thomas each scored for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) field hockey team Wednesday afternoon as the Engineers fell to the Vermont State Castleton Spartans by a final score of 6-2 on the road. Castleton's Emily Harris scored five of the Spartans six goals on the evening.
Transit Trophy Game Moved Up to Friday Night
Due to anticipated inclement weather as a result of Hurricane Lee, the Transit Trophy football game between RPI and WPI has been moved up to Friday, September 15, at 7pm in Worcester, Mass. The game was originally scheduled for September 16 at 5pm, but predicted heavy rain and strong winds led to the alteration.
