Seventy-Nine Earn League All-Academic Honors

The 2022 Liberty League Fall All-Academic Team has been announced, and 79 Rensselaer student-athletes were honored, with fall sports teams including field hockey and football, as well as men's and women's cross country and soccer, being recognized. Student-athletes must have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing at Rensselaer with a minimum grade point average of 3.30 to be selected.

EMPAC founder leaving after 20 years

Johannes Goebel, hired as a consultant 2001, became the RPI facility's director in 2002, six years before it opened as an arts incubator, research space and campus venue. Johannes Goebel, a champion of computer music in Germany who was hired at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2001 as a consultant on what was described as the world's first university-based center for technology and the arts before being named its founding director the following year, is retiring in November.
