So. California | 26th Annual Day at the Del Mar Racetrack

Date: 7/26/2025 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM The Southern California RAA Chapters are hosting the 26th Annual Del Mar Day at the Races event. There isn’t a better way to enjoy exciting Thoroughbred racing and connecting with RPI alumni in the area! We have reserved the Ancient Title Skyroom with a private balcony and cash bar with a wonderful view of the track. Included are a Baja gourmet buffet, television monitors, betting stations, and complimentary programs. There isn’t a better way to enjoy exciting Thoroughbred racing.

Design Lab Showcase to be held Wednesday, April 23rd from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M.

The Design Showcase will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the DCC Great Hall.  Students from multiple engineering disciplines (Computer & Systems, Electrical, Industrial & Management, Materials and Mechanical Engineering) solve real-world design challenges for industry, entrepreneurs and academic/medical partners. Honoring a Trailblazer: The Garnet Baltimore Historical Marker Unveiling and Reception

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) is proud to announce a special event celebrating the life and legacy of one of RPI alumnus Garnet Douglass Baltimore 1881, a pioneering civil engineer, landscape architect, and the first African American graduate of RPI. A visionary in his field, Baltimore made lasting contributions to the Troy community through his innovative infrastructure projects and the design of some of the city’s most cherished landscapes. In recognition of his achievements, a New York State Historical Marker will be unveiled in his honor.

New Jersey | New Tappan Zee Bridge Walking Tour

Date: 6/1/2025 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM ***This event is SOLD OUT!  Join us for a walking tour of the magnificent new Tappan Zee Bridge (aka the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge), spanning the historic and vital Hudson River, located 130 miles due south of RPI. John M. Sun ’87 will lead an interpretive tour and discuss the engineering designs of the old vs. the new Tappan Zee Bridges, and the significant involvements of RPI engineers.
