New Jersey | New Tappan Zee Bridge Walking Tour

Date: 6/1/2025 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM Join us for a walking tour of the magnificent new Tappan Zee Bridge (aka the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge), spanning the historic and vital Hudson River, located 130 miles due south of RPI. John M. Sun ’87 will lead an interpretive tour and discuss the engineering designs of the old vs. the new Tappan Zee Bridges, and the significant involvements of RPI engineers. The walking tour will begin in Tarrytown (on the Westchester side) and go halfway across the bridge then back, passing closely to both sets of towers and all the support cables.

Expanded ISSS Advising, Weekdays from April 15-25, 2025

ISSS is offering expanded advising hours for students and alumni to ask questions and get guidance as we approach the end of the semester. The expanded hours will be held on weekdays from April 15 through April 25. Walk-In Advising will be available weekdays from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (new!) and from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Virtual Advising will have expanded hours both weeks. Computer Science Colloquia - Chen Wang - Efficient and Robust Learning Algorithm Design: Online Learning and Clustering |April 14

Date: Monday, April 14, 2025 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Chen Wang is a postdoctoral researcher hosted jointly by Vladimir (Vova) Braverman at Rice University and Samson Zhou at Texas A&M University. His research interests mainly focus on the intersections between Theoretical Computer Science and Machine Learning. Chen obtained his Ph.D. at Rutgers University, where he was advised by Sepehr Assadi. He is the recipient of the Rutgers SGS Research & Travel Award, and he obtained nominations from Rutgers to Google Ph.D. fellow and Apple ML/AI scholar.
