Second showing! Persepolis: Troy 2025 by Iannis Xenakis x Micah Silver | Aug. 30

Date: Saturday, August 30, 2025 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Experience a seminal work of 20th-century sound art—reframed as an immersive 55-minute installation-performance. Composed in 1971 for a ritual performance amid the ruins of the ancient city of Persepolis, Iran, this eight-channel work invoked fire, movement, and night sky as a sonic act of resistance. At EMPAC, it resounds in a different kind of temple—one built not to glorify power, but to listen. No stage. No performers. Just you and the architecture vibrating with sound.

TOPOS 2025: King Britt presents Liberation Meditations: A Call at EMPAC | Aug. 28

Date: Thursday, August 28, 2025 9:00 PM - 39 speakers. 1 immersive ritual. Visionary producer and sonic explorer King Britt returns with a powerful spatial sound experience unfolding within EMPAC’s state-of-the-art Studio 1—Goodman. Featuring collaborators Suzi Analogue and Myles Ortiz-Green, their performances weave turntables, analog synths, and digital textures into a ritual of rhythm and healing.

TOPOS 2025: The Living Earth Show presents Lazyhorse in Troy | Aug. 28

Date: Thursday, August 28, 2025 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM - FREE all-ages show! For TOPOS, Pulitzer Prize–winning composer and visual artist Raven Chacon returns to music’s most raw and immediate form: the band. Drawing on his roots in noise, thrash, and metal (Tenderizor, KILT, White People Killed Them), Chacon channels that energy into an excavation of American musical traditions: country, folk, and their haunted echoes. One night only!
