Date: Tuesday, August 26, 2025 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM - Lunch will begin at 1:30pm at Heffner Alumni house. During lunch, you will have a chance to ask questions and learn about your expected journey at RPI. We will walk together to the campus resource fair, which will begin at 3:30pm in DCC. Orientation will end at 5pm.

Date: Tuesday, August 26, 2025 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM - Lunch will begin at 12pm at Heffner Alumni house. We will then take a quick campus tour ending in DCC308 for welcome notes and a panel discussion with faculty advisors (1:30-3pm). The campus resource fair will begin at 3:30pm, and while you wait you can get to know your peers better over coffee and cookies. Orientation will end at 5pm.

Refreshments- after the ceremony concludes.

The hooding ceremony is a unique recognition of the achievement of each student who has earned a doctorate. Each doctoral candidate is introduced individually during the ceremony. They will have their hood placed on them while standing on the stage in the concert hall.

The RPI student health insurance plan has renewed for the 2025-2026 year. There are no changes to the insurance benefits and there is no increase in the health insurance fee. However, there has been a change in the insurance carrier. The new carrier is Aetna. Students are encouraged to complete enrollment on the insurance portal to activate their health insurance benefits. The deadline to waive out of the plan is September 1st.
