TOPOS 2025: King Britt presents Liberation Meditations: A Call at EMPAC | Aug. 28

Visionary producer and sonic explorer King Britt returns with a powerful spatial sound experience unfolding within EMPAC’s state-of-the-art Studio 1—Goodman. Featuring collaborators Suzi Analogue and Myles Ortiz-Green, their performances weave turntables, analog synths, and digital textures into a ritual of rhythm and healing.

For TOPOS, Pulitzer Prize–winning composer and visual artist Raven Chacon returns to music’s most raw and immediate form: the band. Drawing on his roots in noise, thrash, and metal (Tenderizor, KILT, White People Killed Them), Chacon channels that energy into an excavation of American musical traditions: country, folk, and their haunted echoes. Cognitive Science Undergraduate Information Session | Sept. 13

Learn about degree requirements, dual-major opportunities, the BS+MS co-term program, and hear about active research going on in the Cognitive Science department from faculty and graduate students. You will also learn about opportunities to get involved in research through the Undergraduate Research Program (URP).

Counseling Center Announces Drop-in Counseling Hours for Fall 2025

The RPI Counseling Center invites students to meet with a counselor without a formal appointment, during designated drop-in hours. There are two hours available for walk-in each day (M/F - 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; T/W/Th - 2 to 4 p.m.). Drop-in counseling is available on a first come, first served basis on days when classes are in session. Students who cannot attend drop-in times can call (518) 276-6479 to schedule an appointment.

Mandatory TA Training | Aug. 27

Date: Wednesday, August 27, 2025 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM - There will be two sessions: morning (9am-2pm) and afternoon (1pm-6pm). All incoming TAs are required to register for one of the sessions. Each session will feature short talks from current TAs and faculty covering topics such as TA best practices, dealing with problems in the classroom, and maintaining work-life balance. Light snacks and lunch will be provided.
