Helping Students Learn: Session 2-Making It Stick

Faculty are invited to participate in the second workshop of the 3-part series, Helping Students Learn. The topic of the second session is Making it Stick: Enhancing Practice and Transfer of New Knowledge and will be led by Eric Burkholder (Auburn University, Engineering Education Researcher). Participants will be able to apply research from cognitive psychology directly to their instructional approach in a way that centers and promotes student learning and success. 

DotCIO anounces a new employee request form for technology needs

DotCIO has released a new employee request form for technology needs available in their IT Services and Support Center (ITSSC) request system. This form is a centralized request for technology needs for new hires, including transferring from a different Division, such as computer/laptop, software, network and shared resources access, printers, and phone requirements.

As of 02/12/2025, RPI managed computers will lock after 15 minutes of inactivity

Starting 02/12/2025, RPI managed computers will lock after an activity time out of 15 minutes. Devices unused for 15 minutes will be locked requiring your login password to unlock. This measure complies with data privacy regulations to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information if an individual leaves their computer unattended, ensuring that only the authorized individual can access the system by requiring a password to log back in after the inactivity period.

DotCIO server upgrades Saturday 12/21 and Sunday 12/22

DotCIO will be performing necessary server upgrades over the winter break. On Saturday 12/21 midnight through 11:59pm:  IACSDept.win.rpi.edu.  This will affect S drive for campus and V drive for departments. Sunday 12/22 9am to 1pm ET:  IACSHome.win.rpi.edu.  This will affect all U drives (home directories).  In the event anything affects this schedule, we will update announcement on https://dotcio.rpi.edu
