ITHACA, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's swimming and diving team saw their 400-yard medley relay team step up on Thursday evening, as the squad swam a new standard on the second day of the Liberty League Championships at the Kelsey Partridge Natatorium at Ithaca College. RPI's 400-yard medley relay team consisting of senior Alyssa Cahill, senior Ola Nawrocki, sophomore Colleen Whittaker and sophomore Shannon Brown set program, championship, and association records with an NCAA B-cut time of 3:48.82. RPI held the previous championship record of 3:51.23, set in 2019. Rochester's association record of 3:50.77 was set in 2014. Brown also had a solid individual finish in the 200 freestyle, scoring a second place finish. Gabriela Crother-Collado also competed in the 200 freestyle, finishing sixth in the event. Whittaker also came up with a second place effort in the Women's 100 Fly. Crother-Collado also joined Maddy Erickson, Christina Cavalluzzo, and Chloe Jepson in the Women's 200 relay ,as the group scored a fourth place finish. The Engineers return to action tomorrow, Friday, February 17 at 10 a.m. with prelims before finals in the evening.
