Matt Lecky set the school record in the 5000 meters and three others ran the same distance for the Rensselaer men's and women's track and field teams at the prestigious, multi-divisional Penn Relays, which were held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Running in Heat 2, Lecky finished in a time of 14:07.10 to place first in his group and 14th overall in the 77-competitor field; he was less than a second from placing 13th.
