On August 23, Rensselaer announced the appointment of Kristie Bowers, Ph.D. as its new associate vice president and director of athletics, succeeding Dr. Lee McElroy, who retired at the beginning of the summer after eight years with RPI. Bowers, who comes from Boston University, where she has served as senior associate athletic director and senior woman administrator since 2019, will be the first woman appointed to the role at Rensselaer.
