Date: 6/1/2025 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM Join us for a walking tour of the magnificent new Tappan Zee Bridge (aka the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge), spanning the historic and vital Hudson River, located 130 miles due south of RPI. John M. Sun ’87 will lead an interpretive tour and discuss the engineering designs of the old vs. the new Tappan Zee Bridges, and the significant involvements of RPI engineers. The walking tour will begin in Tarrytown (on the Westchester side) and go halfway across the bridge then back, passing closely to both sets of towers and all the support cables. There are several observation stations along the way displaying sculptures and additional information about the region and the bridge. The total walking distance is 2.6 miles and will take about 2 hours. After the walk, we will gather at nearby Mr. Nick’s Restaurant for lunch.
