Date: Thursday, August 27, 2026 12:00 AM - 1:00 AM - This week, the School of Engineering celebrated a $27 million donation to the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering (ECSE) from Doug Mercer ’77. In recognition of his transformational generosity and long-term commitment to ECSE, the department will be renamed the Douglas A. Mercer ’77 Department of Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering. A formal ceremony open to the RPI community will be held on October 9. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
