Drover-Mattinen Chosen for NCAA Championship
Rensselaer student-athlete Aiden Drover-Mattinen has been selected for the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship, which will be held May 18-22 at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus in Orlando, Florida. This marks the second straight season that Drover-Mattinen will be competing in men's singles.
Women's Tennis Duo Headed to NCAA Tournament
For the second straight year – and only the second time in its current format – the Rensselaer women's tennis team has had a doubles team selected to play in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships. Student-athletes Lorna Flores Gonzalez and Nikki Ridenour were tabbed by the national committee, and will compete for a national championship at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus in Orlando, Florida from May 19-22.
Class of 2023 Honored at Senior Athlete Event
The Rensselaer 2022-23 senior student-athletes were recognized at the annual banquet in a first-class event that was recently held at the Hilton Garden Inn, with nearly all the senior student-athletes, coaches, staff members, and numerous members of the Cabinet in attendance. Annual department award winners were also announced at the event, and the newest members of Olympia, the athletic department's student-athlete honor society, were honored.
Women’s Lacrosse Edged by Union in Quarterfinals
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team saw their postseason run end in the Liberty League opening round Tuesday evening, as they fell to the Union Dutchwomen by a final score of 12-11 at Frank Bailey Field at Bertagna-Class of 1985 Stadium.
