Design Lab Showcase to be held Wednesday, April 23rd from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M.

The Design Showcase will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the DCC Great Hall.  Students from multiple engineering disciplines (Computer & Systems, Electrical, Industrial & Management, Materials and Mechanical Engineering) solve real-world design challenges for industry, entrepreneurs and academic/medical partners. Honoring a Trailblazer: The Garnet Baltimore Historical Marker Unveiling and Reception

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) is proud to announce a special event celebrating the life and legacy of one of RPI alumnus Garnet Douglass Baltimore 1881, a pioneering civil engineer, landscape architect, and the first African American graduate of RPI. A visionary in his field, Baltimore made lasting contributions to the Troy community through his innovative infrastructure projects and the design of some of the city’s most cherished landscapes. In recognition of his achievements, a New York State Historical Marker will be unveiled in his honor.

The walking tour will begin in Tarrytown (on the Westchester side) and go halfway across the bridge then back, passing closely to both sets of towers and all the support cables.
