C.J. Lyons Named Defensive Player of the Year

TROY, N.Y. - D3football.com has announced its All-Region 2 selections and major award winners and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete C.J. Lyons has been named the Defensive Player of the Year. The senior cornerback was also selected to the First Team, while offensive lineman Thomas Olausen and defensive lineman Josh Cohen were tabbed for Second Team recognition and linebacker Joe Deptula earned Third Team honors. All four were also All-Region in 2021.

No. 18 Men's Basketball Beats SUNY Poly, 52-49

TROY, N.Y. - Junior guard Chuck Clemons scored 11 points down the stretch and tied for game-high honors with 16 points, graduate student guard Dom Black also scored 16 points, and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's basketball team battled back to defeat SUNY Polytechnic 52-49 in a non-league game at East Campus Arena. The No. 18 Engineers improve to 8-1, while the Wildcats drop to 6-5.
