All eight winter teams are in action this week with men's hockey and both swimming & diving squads at home.
The Artificial Intelligence Research Collaboration (AIRC) is a joint venture between Rensselaer and IBM working to advance the science of artificial intelligence (AI) through a series of research projects. Tyler Malloy, who recently graduated from Rensselaer with a Ph.D. in cognitive science, was a member of the AIRC and focused his research on improving methods in an area of machine learning called reinforcement learning algorithms by integrating his expertise in human cognition.
The Hockey Humanitarian Award Foundation recently announced its nominees for the 2023 Hockey Humanitarian Award, and Rensselaer student-athlete Hannah Price has been selected as one of 15 across NCAA Division I men's and women's hockey. The award is presented annually to a college hockey student-athlete who makes significant contributions not only to his or her team but also to the community-at-large through leadership in volunteerism.
After posting 78 total saves over two games and securing her fifth shutout of the season, senior goaltender Amanda Rampado of the Rensselaer women's hockey team was recently named the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week. The honor is her third weekly selection this season.
The Liberty League has announced its weekly award winners, and four Rensselaer student-athletes from four programs have been recognized, with two named Performers of the Week and two as Rookies of the Week.
