Professor Koopman is an internationally recognized expert on Autonomous Vehicle (AV) safety whose work in that area spans over 25 years. He has been involved with AV policy and standards as well as more general embedded system design and software quality. The entire RPI community is welcome to attend.

ISATMA 2025 Workshop: Neurodivergent Knowing and Creating | April 9

Wednesday, April 9, 2025 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM The International Symposium on Assistive Technology for Music and Art started as a forum for researchers and artists dealing with the physical limitations of the human body and with embodiment in general. Join us for a panel focused on neurodivergent media, thinking, scholarship, pedagogy, and crip curation. Discussion includes opening and closing 30-minute periods to gather and rest in a 360-degree space of ambient sound and moving image.

Buckley Announced as a Finalist for the 2025 Byron Nelson Award

NORMAN, Okla. - Matt Buckley of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) golf team has been named one of five finalists for the prestigious Byron Nelson Award, an annual honor given to an outstanding Division I, II, III, or NAIA scholar-athlete of the year. The award, which is presented by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), is bestowed upon a graduating senior, in recognition for their achievement in the classroom, and in their community.

Computer Science Colloquia - Ke Wang - Beyond the Phase Ordering Problem: Finding the Globally Optimal Code with Respect to Optimization Phases | April 9

Date: Wednesday, April 9, 2025 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Ke Wang is currently a visiting scholar at Stanford University. His work received a Distinguished Paper Award at OOPSLA 2020. He has served on the program committee for PLDI in 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2025. Prior to joining Visa Research, Dr. Wang obtained his PhD from UC Davis, where he was awarded twice in 2015 and 2018 an Honorable Mention for Outstanding Graduate Research in the Computer Science Department. He also worked at Siemens Corporate Technology/Research and Meta.

At the end of the Middle States Accreditation on-campus visit, the visiting team will host a Community Meeting to present their final report. After reviewing our Self-Study, analyzing hundreds of supporting documents, and engaging with many members of the RPI community during their 2.5-day visit, what will they conclude about RPI? Join us for the Final Readout on Wednesday, April 9, at 11:00 AM. Fun fact: the visiting team will present their report but won’t take questions!
