SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) softball team swept its second straight Liberty League doubleheader this afternoon with 14-5 and 3-1 victories at Union.

Date: Thursday, April 9, 2026 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Prof. Marlene Belfort, born in Cape Town to German-Jewish refugees, studied biochemistry and microbiology at the University of Cape Town, earned her PhD at UC Irvine, and completed postdoctoral work in Jerusalem and at Northwestern. A member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and an award-winning scientist, she is now a Distinguished Professor at the University at Albany, SUNY, known for research on introns and inteins and for advocating for women in science.

The Design Showcase will be held on Wednesday, Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the DCC Great Hall.  Students from multiple engineering disciplines (Computer & Systems, Electrical, Industrial & Management, Materials and Mechanical Engineering) solve real-world design challenges for industry, entrepreneurs and academic/medical partners.
