CBE Abbott Lecture - Dr. Randall Snurr | Oct. 8

Abbott Lecture Series hosted each fall in the Chemical Engineering Department honors Abbott’s legacy and celebrates his achievements. This year's speaker is Dr. Randall Snurr, Professor from Northwestern University. Dr. Snurr's seminar titled “Abbott Lecture: Adsorption Hysteresis and Effects of Framework Flexibility in Nanoporous Materials: Thermodynamics and Applications” is opened to all. Refreshments will be available in the Ricketts Coonley Lounge (120) at 8:45 a.m.

"Good Enough Art" Talk On October 9

Amid a historic decline of the middle class caused in part by the “missing middle” housing crisis, Anna Kornbluh (Professor of English, University of Illinois - Chicago) argues that cultural study must revamp its traditional sociological methods. Briefly considering architecture, photography, fiction, and television, this talk experiments with a formalist approach to mid aesthetics: "good enough art.” Join us Oct. 9 at 6:30pm in Sage 3303.

Seasonal HVAC Transition - Cooling to Heating 2025

The Physical Plant’s HVAC team will begin transitioning campus buildings from cooling to heating starting Tuesday, October 7th with completion expected by Wednesday, October 15th. Please be advised that during the start-up process, it is normal to hear small banging and clanging noises as the piping warms up and we come up to full pressure; additionally, a slight burning odor is common.

Ridenour and Jaiswal Represent RPI at ITA Cup Doubles Championship

ROME, GA – Making program history with their appearance at the ITA Cup, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis duo of Nicole Ridenour and Anushka Jaiswal battled through a tightly contested match on Thursday afternoon, ultimately falling in the round of 16 to Trinity University's Trinity Levy and Rosabella Andrade, 6-2, 4-6, (10-6), at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College.
