We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kevin Surman as Director of Physical Plant.

Kevin has dedicated more than 32 years to RPI, beginning as an electrician and advancing through roles including Electrical Shop Supervisor, Associate Director, and most recently, Acting Director. Known for his technical expertise, collaborative leadership, and steady guidance, Kevin has strengthened safety, improved operations, and supported the professional development of his team.

This notice is to announce the retirement of the EZ-Snapshot service effective Monday, November 3rd, 2025. Sometimes referred to as EZ-Backup, the service was created in 2006 using enterprise-class tape backup technology and was used to backup departmental, research and individual servers and workstations. It has fallen out of use in the past several years, having been replaced by a modern disk-based backup solution.

GENEVA, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team turned in a dominant showing at the Mary Hosking Invitational, hosted by William Smith College at the HWS Tennis Center, claiming multiple bracket titles across singles and doubles play while earning more match victories than any other participating program.
