HR to Hold Professional Development Workshop, “Leading from Anywhere”

Description: At Rensselaer, we maintain that “leadership” involves a learnable set of actions and behaviors that is available to everyone. In this workshop, scheduled to be held from 9am to 11am on February 20, participants will explore the tenants that comprise everyday leadership and discuss the behaviors that define leadership not as positional or based on title, but rather on values and actions.

Date: Monday, January 27, 2025 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM - Register to join Maureen Fodera, of the Office of Undergraduate Education, for a workshop that will discuss a high overview of the meaning of digital story telling, its advantages, and story-telling assignment practices, as well as review the Six-Word Story, Six Unique Shots assignment concept.

Fac/Staff Quick Learn Webinar to Offer Tips for Engaging Students

Date: Wednesday, January 22, 2025 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM - Assigning reading assignments and micro video lectures prior to class are great ways for students to gather initial knowledge. Register to join Maureen Fodera, of the Office of Undergraduate Education, as she offers tips on how instructors can use these means to engage and motivate students and help them extract important details/understandings.

HR Professional Development Seminar, "Supervisory Essentials,” to be Held January 22

Date: Wednesday, January 22, 2025 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM - Managers and Supervisors will learn from each other and our Facilitators abou topics such as the Employee Value Proposition and Employee Experience and the six fundamental Leadership competencies at Rensselaer, as well as experience a “day in the life” of a Supervisor. The importance of managing employee performance, providing rewards and recognition, and employment law fundamentals and tools for building team capacity will also be explored.
