Call for Faculty Reflective Pedagogy Fellows – Applications due April 11th

Inquiry-based learning and creativity are key elements toward creating engaged learning. The Gameful and Immersive Learning Teams invite interested faculty to apply to redesign one of their courses (or a course element). Following the successful spring 2024 Innovative Pedagogy Fellows initiative, the Office of Undergraduate Education is capitalizing on this momentum by funding a professional development opportunity for a new cohort of fellows in 2025, the Reflective Pedagogy Fellows.

Information Session for 2025 Project RFP: IBM-RPI Future of Computing Research Collaboration (FCRC) Quantum Computing Track | March 28

Join us on March 28th, 2-3pm for the Info Session concerning the Request for Joint RPI/IBM Research Proposals in the Quantum Computing Track, a collaborative research initiative between RPI and IBM (FCRC) to drive world class innovation and fundamental advances in artificial intelligence algorithm, AI hardware software co-design, Semiconductor Technology and Quantum Computing for the benefit of society. Helping Students Learn: Session 2-Making It Stick

Faculty are invited to participate in the second workshop of the 3-part series, Helping Students Learn. The topic of the second session is Making it Stick: Enhancing Practice and Transfer of New Knowledge and will be led by Eric Burkholder (Auburn University, Engineering Education Researcher). Participants will be able to apply research from cognitive psychology directly to their instructional approach in a way that centers and promotes student learning and success. 

Division of Human Resources Professional Development Workshop: Leading from Anywhere | April 18 (Registration Required)

At Rensselaer, we maintain that “leadership” involves a learnable set of actions and behaviors that is available to everyone. In this workshop, participants will explore the tenants that comprise everyday leadership and discuss the behaviors that define leadership not as positional or based on title, but rather on values and actions.

Division of Human Resources Professional Development Seminar: "Supervisory Essentials" | March 13

Thursday, March 13, 2025 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM - Learn about important topics such as the Employee Value Proposition and Employee Experience, the six fundamental Leadership competencies at Rensselaer, and experience several “Supervisory Simulations” with colleagues. In addition, the importance of coaching employee performance, providing both rewards and recognition, employment law fundamentals and tools for building team capacity will be explored.
