Rensselaer Faculty and Staff In Person Workshop - Reviewing Supported Whiteboarding Tools On Campus for Courses or Meetings | Oct. 21

Tuesday, October 21, 2025 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM - This workshop looks at two supported whiteboarding tools available on campus. 1) the whiteboard feature in Webex. 2) a tool is in Box, called Canvas. This session will offer an overview on these two similar tools giving you an opportunity to learn a little more about them and potentially consider using them in your classroom or meeting space. Date: Wednesday, October 15, 2025 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM - In this webinar we will review tips and tricks to creating more productive breakout sessions. In this session, we will not be learning "how to" use the breakout room feature in Webex but we will be strategizing on how to improve the engagement in the sessions by offering roles, mixing things up, and creating connections. Date: Tuesday, October 14, 2025 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM - In this workshop, we will focus on the three active learning concepts of the Jigsaw activity, Think/Pair/Share and working with Visual Maps/Charts. We will spend some time on each of these three approaches, discussing the concept of each and looking at examples to help you think about how you might be able to incorporate the approach into your class as an activity. Date: Thursday, October 9, 2025 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM - In this workshop we will look at the strategies around building brave spaces versus safe spaces and what that means in situations when in a learning environment with a group of peers discussing challenging topics.
