Field Hockey Topped at Castleton
CASTLETON, Vt. – Abby Peterson and Julie Thomas each scored for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) field hockey team Wednesday afternoon as the Engineers fell to the Vermont State Castleton Spartans by a final score of 6-2 on the road. Castleton's Emily Harris scored five of the Spartans six goals on the evening.
Transit Trophy Game Moved Up to Friday Night
Due to anticipated inclement weather as a result of Hurricane Lee, the Transit Trophy football game between RPI and WPI has been moved up to Friday, September 15, at 7pm in Worcester, Mass. The game was originally scheduled for September 16 at 5pm, but predicted heavy rain and strong winds led to the alteration.
Men’s Soccer Tops Keene State 3-1 for First Win
KEENE, N.H. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's soccer team collected their first win of the season on Tuesday evening, as they defeated the Keene State Owls by a final score of 3-1. Both captains Josh Gaudiano and Gabe Terrando each scored, with Brady Van Epps adding a penalty kick to clinch the win late in the 84th minute.
Women's Cross Country Names Three as Captains
Rensselaer men's and women's head cross country coach John Lynch has announced that the captains for the women's team this season are Leah Goodloe, Olivia Pisacano, and Olivia Reid. Goodloe is in her second year in helping to lead the squad, while Pisacano and Reid are in their first.
Matt McGarvey to Serve as Head Golf Coach
It has been announced that Matt McGarvey will lead Rensselaer's golf program as head coach. McGarvey replaces Evan Drew, who is now the head coach of the women's program at Siena College.
