From Every Day Matters: Celebrating the History of Black Families Technology Awareness Day at RPI

In the late 1990s, a movement began to address the digital divide that limited opportunities for many across the country. In this edition of Every Day Matters, National Society of Black Engineers Chairperson Tommy Kabiawu describes how, throughout the nation, black leaders and organizations organized Black Family Technology Awareness Week in 1999 to connect African American youth and adults to their rich heritage in technology in ways that would help them find pathways to the new careers and business opportunities that were on the horizon.

House SIX by Easton Combs recognized with a 2023 RECORD HOUSE award by Architectural Record

House SIX is a 5,000 sq.ft. [500 sq.m.] single family residence located within a dramatic landscape in Berkshire County in western Massachusetts, near New York’s Hudson Valley. The house sits on the land as a geometric cascade of space, view, natural light and landscape, creating dynamic linkages and multiple foci for living, rest, work and play.
