Spreading Joy, One Laugh at a Time

Kevin Turner '14 can recall the moments when he first fell in love with comedy: watching comedy specials with his family during long road trips, and watching stand-up comedy. Despite feeling hesitant to perform live in front of his peers, Turner joined the university's improv group, Sheer Idiocy, when he first came to Rensselaer, and that's where he ended up meeting Isabel Johnson ’16.

Herrman Signs Pro Contract

Having graduated earlier this month, Rensselaer student-athlete Rory Herrman has elected to sign a professional contract to join the Cardiff Devils of the Elite Hockey League in the United Kingdom. With the move, the forward will forego his remaining eligibility to compete for the men's hockey team.

Josh Cohen Nominated for Cliff Harris Award

Rensselaer student-athlete Josh Cohen is a nominee for the Cliff Harris Award, which is presented annually to the top small college defensive football player in the country representing almost 500 NCAA Division II, III and NAIA colleges and universities. In addition to the Harris Award nomination, Cohen was honored as an All-Liberty League First Team selection and named to the D3football.com All-Region 2 Second Team, and is also an All-League thrower on Rensselaer's track and field team.

Paul Silva Named to All-ECAC Second Team

The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2022 Division III Men's Soccer All-ECAC Teams, and graduate student Paul Silva has garnered Second Team recognition. A midfielder, Silva finished the season with 11 goals in 17 games, each of which he started. Silva has been chosen to the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll five times, and garnered All-Liberty League First Team accolades for the second straight season.
