Leaders in Action: David Daglio '88, Global Investment Strategist

Date: 10/30/2025 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM The RPI community is invited to join Professor Azita Hirsa and David Daglio '88, Global Investment Strategist, TwinFocus, as he speaks to students. A meet and greet with refreshments will take place at 12 p.m., with conversation and Q&A at 12:30 p.m. The program will be held  on campus in the Heffner Alumni House Great Room, as part of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering's “Leaders in Action” series. There is no charge to attend and pre-registration is not required.

Computer Science Colloquia: William Regli - "Perspectives on AI Risk" | Sept. 17

Date: Wednesday, September 17, 2025 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Dr. Regli is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Maryland at College Park, where he was the founding Executive Director (2018-2023) of the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security---the University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) for the United States Department of Defense. In addition to the University of Maryland, he has held positions with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Lockheed Martin, AT&T, and Drexel University.

CEE Fall Seminar Series - Dr. Cynthia Chen Professor, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering Professor, Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering University of Washington | Sept. 17

Date: Wednesday, September 17, 2025 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM - “From Biases to Opportunities: Leveraging Location-Based-Service (LBS) Data for Transportation Planning”. This presentation will provide an overview of the biases in the LBS data. Specifically, I will present data quality issues and their effects on the resulting mobility metrics that are commonly used in the planning process. I will also discuss how LBS data can aid Household Travel Survey (HTS) data and transform the field of transportation planning. More information provided at the seminar.

Math Colloquium: Pierre Amenoagbadji, from Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics (Columbia University) | Sept. 17

Date: Wednesday, September 17, 2025 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - This Mathematical Sciences Colloquium will feature a presentation titled "Wave propagation in junctions of periodic half-spaces" by Dr. Pierre Amenoagbadji, postdoc in Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics at Columbia University.
