Division of Human Resources Professional Development Workshop: Steps to Effective Communication: Extended DISC; February 3, 2026

Date: Tuesday, February 3, 2026 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Our success, both personally and professionally, is largely determined by our ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people. The Extended DISC system is based on behavioral theories that have been used for over one hundred years. In this workshop, participants will receive individualized Extended DISC reports (based on the completion of the Extended DISC questionnaire) that reflect both their “natural” and “adjusted” behavioral styles and learn strategies which promote successful interactions with others.

TIPA Information Session

Date: Tuesday, January 13, 2026 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM - The Technology and Information Promotion Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises (TIPA) in South Korea has an upcoming funding opportunity for collaborations between universities and small and medium size Korean companies with a focus on translation in 12 technology areas. A delegation from TIPA will visit RPI to host an information session on the funding opportunity. Members of the RPI research community are invited to attend.

Division of Human Resources Professional Development Workshop: "Leading from Anywhere” February 20, 2026 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Description: In this workshop, participants will explore the tenants that comprise everyday leadership and discuss the behaviors that define leadership not as positional or based on title, but rather on values and actions.

Teaching and Learning Collaboratory Faculty Call for Proposals: Submissions due March 9, 2026

The OUE and the TLC invites proposals from full time tenure track faculty members or lecturers/Professors of Practice for piloting and assessing pedagogical innovations, especially those integrating interactive technologies into the classroom. We wish to fund seed projects that will serve as the foundation for external grant applications. Project proposals should entail the implementation of new interactive approaches, gaming, remote laboratories, or other innovative methods.

Understanding Today’s Students: Practical tools to support learning, engagement, and well-being

The Mainstreaming Mental Wellbeing Taskforce, in collaboration with the Provost’s office and the Division of Human Resources, has developed a two workshop training series to provide RPI faculty and staff with practical tools for understanding today’s students and responding to their evolving needs. RPI at Work Single Course Enrollment Options | Dec. 17

Date: Wednesday, December 17, 2025 7:00 PM - 7:30 PM - Dean Aric Krause, Ph.D., will host this RPI at Work information session reviewing the online graduate programs for working professionals and provide course enrollment options to make an immediate impact on one's work.
