The 2023 Division III women's cross country preseason poll from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has been announced, and the Rensselaer women's team is ranked 33rd in the nation.
The Rensselaer athletics department's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be spearheaded by an executive counsel of five, led by graduate student Brooke Sroczinski of the softball team. Sara Bayne of ice hockey is the marketing and promotional coordinator, Alexis Cooke of softball is the events coordinator, Angelo Venuto of lacrosse is the community and campus involvement coordinator, and Alyssa Cahill of swimming is the Liberty League representative.

Manasa Chillara, a doctoral candidate in chemical and biological engineering at Rensselaer, watched it in high school and remembers thinking at the time that it could only happen in a movie. Little did Manasa know that life was about to show us that reality can surpass even the wildest of movie plots.
On August 23, Rensselaer announced the appointment of Kristie Bowers, Ph.D. as its new associate vice president and director of athletics, succeeding Dr. Lee McElroy, who retired at the beginning of the summer after eight years with RPI. Bowers, who comes from Boston University, where she has served as senior associate athletic director and senior woman administrator since 2019, will be the first woman appointed to the role at Rensselaer.
